Bye!

Image: www.alaska-in-pictures.com

I'm going to the USA tomorrow! The plan has changed and I'm going to Seattle. I'm so going to raid Barnes & Noble (if you see headlines in the newspapers - that'll be me!).

I'm not taking my computer with me, so that means that I won't be blogging or reading blogs for a few days. I'll be busy shopping my head off (I wanted to scream when I saw the price difference! Sometimes living in Iceland just sucks). And who knows, maybe I'll see that space thingy in the picture.

Anyway! Have a great weekend, and see you next week!

Tess

(I apologize for the excessive use of exclamation marks - but I'm going to the USA!!!!)

  4. Yay! Have fun in Seattle, and remember that you have to lug all those books back home again. :) And save some $$ for coffee!

  5. Have a great time! Seattle is a great city--congested, but very fun (and that Space Needle is hard to miss)

  6. Ah! You'll be so close! Any chance of coming to Vancouver??? How long are you going for? We're going to be down there NEXT WEEKEND! (My mum lives in Seattle)

Anyway, if you want to meet up, leave me a message or email or something! I'd love to put real people to the blogs I read. :)

  7. Le Pichet is a fantastic low-key French restaurant walking distance from Pike's Place Market that makes me think I'm back in Paris.

Their Cafe Presse is more casual food-wise - think huge slabs of chocolate on French bread - and is near the university.

I'll be there Sat, hanging in Ballard, my fav neighborhood.

  8. I hope you enjoy Seattle, Tessa! And just in time for your visit, the rainy weather is going to be making a comeback.

  9. I didn't expect anything other than rain in Seattle! It's just the thing to increase my cold ;)

Thanks for the tip, Robert. My cousin will be steering the trip (to the stores), so I have no idea where we'll be, but if we're close, I'll see if we can find the café (the slabs of chocolate is just too tempting!)...which brings me to you, Amanda.

I'm afraid that this trip is all scheduled out - this time! We've decided to go back some other time, over a longer period of time (lots of time here), and visit Forks ;) We're just staying a few days now (Friday evening to Monday afternoon). It would have been so nice to meet you!

  11. Come on, it rains in Iceland far more than Seattle, at least in my experience! And keep using those exclams!! Enjoy Seattle!

  15. Tessa, have a great time in the USA! It does indeed require an exclamation mark!Or two!! Now would be a good time for me to visit seeing our dollar is nearly at parity (usually much less) but I just can't see myself getting there awhile..:)

  16. Oh wow, yes, I'd be going exclamation mark crazy too. Have a bit of a shop for me too please - clothes that fit are slim pickings for Westerners in Bangkok.

  18. Oh, you're there! I've never been to the coastal states, on either side. Someday I'll see the ocean, I swear. Maybe even Iceland, too! Hope you're having a super great time!

  19. Two strange coincidences: #1, I live in Seattle. #2, I just named my brand new baby daughter Tessa.

Obviously, we were destined to be friends ;-)

  20. Totally! Haha. And congrats on your daughter. Tessa Quin is my pen name, which means that I really love the name "Tessa" ;)
